| Reverse description | The reverse is bisected vertically by a central dividing line. The left half features a geometric interlocking pattern of stylised Royal cypher motifs as a decorative background, over which the denomination '10' appears in large numerals above the word 'PENCE' in capitals. The right half displays a boldly rendered capercaillie — a large woodland grouse native to Scotland — depicted in a displaying posture with head raised, tail fanned, and wings partially spread, perched on a branch amid scattered sprigs of heather rendered in fine detail. The design was created by Jennifer Lane. |
