| Obverse description | The copper-nickel centre features the coat of arms of Macao at centre, depicting a crowned Portuguese-style shield supported on either side by winged angelic figures, with a scroll below bearing the Latin motto CIDADE DO NOME DE DEUS DE MACAU NÃO HÁ OUTRA MAIS LEAL. The brass outer ring carries the Latin legend MACAU and the Chinese characters 澳門 along the upper arc, with the denomination 10 PATACAS in Latin characters and the Chinese equivalent 拾圓 along the lower arc, accompanied by a small Chinese seal character at lower right. |
