| Obverse description | Central field occupied by the tughra of Sultan Mahmud II, rendered in the characteristic Ottoman calligraphic style with interlaced loops and ascending strokes. The regnal year numeral 28 (٢٨) appears above the tughra in Arabic script. The entire device is enclosed within a wreath of stylized laurel or olive branches. The coin is struck on an irregular flan typical of hammered billon issues of this provincial mint. |
