Reverse description Central field bears a multi-line Arabic inscription naming the mint and the regnal year, arranged in the traditional Ottoman manner within the coin's field. The inscription is surrounded by a beaded inner circle, beyond which an elaborate scrolling foliate border mirrors that of the obverse, framing the entire design. The irregular planchet and worn surfaces are consistent with the hammered technique and provincial mint production of Tripoli under Ottoman suzerainty.
