Additional information

Nepal's small-type aluminium 10 Paisa was produced during a period of significant political upheaval — the country had only restored multiparty democracy in 1990 after a popular movement dismantled Birendra's absolute panchayat system. The king retained the throne but shed direct executive power, a compromise that held uneasily until the royal massacre of 2001 ended Birendra's reign entirely.

The KM#1014.3 designation distinguishes this from earlier type variants by its reduced physical specification — a cost-driven revision as aluminium blanks at this size became the practical floor for viable coin production.
