Reverse description A detailed rendering of H.M.S. Adventure, the Royal Navy sloop commanded by Tobias Furneaux during Captain James Cook's second Pacific expedition (1772–1775), is depicted under full sail on open seas, occupying the central field. To the right, a terrestrial globe mounted on a wooden stand is shown, referencing the navigational instruments of the age of exploration. The design is executed in fine relief against a plain field. The legend JAMES COOK · HMS ADVENTURE arcs along the upper periphery, while the denomination 10 PA`ANGA is inscribed in the lower field.
