Beschrijving voorzijde Cream-coloured note printed in black letterpress with a large green underprint of the numeral '10' and the word 'øre' centred across the face. The issuer's name, 'Store Norske Spitsbergen Kulkompani Aktieselskap', is set in elaborate Gothic script near the top, flanked by bordered panels indicating the series letter at left and serial number at right. The body of the note carries a full Norwegian-language text defining the terms of use, with the denomination '10 – Ti Øre' enclosed in a decorative cartouche at centre; two manuscript signatures appear at the foot, attributed to the Chairman of the Board and the Office Manager, Spitsbergen.

Opmerkingen

Store Norske Spitsbergen Kulkompani — usually shortened to Store Norske — operated a company town on Svalbard where Norwegian kroner had no practical circulation infrastructure. The solution was scrip: a closed monetary system valid only within the settlement, used to pay miners and redeemable at the company store. These notes were never legal tender and had no standing outside the colliery's own economy.

The SN3r reference indicates a remainder — unissued stock retained after the scrip series was withdrawn, which is why intact examples without cancellation punches or stamps turn up with some regularity despite the remote issuance point.
