Reverse description Central field dominated by a large numeral I (denoting 10 nummi), surmounted by a cross, serving as the principal denomination mark. The regnal year legend is divided on either side of the central motif, reading ANNO to the left and XXVI to the right, indicating the 26th year of Justinian I's reign. The mint mark P, identifying the Perugia mint in Italy, appears in the lower field beneath the I. The design is characteristic of Byzantine decanummia struck at Italian mints during the Gothic War period.
