Reverse description A bold cross potent occupies the center of the reverse field, flanked by two pellets or dots, one on each side. The design is stark and unadorned, reflecting the simplified iconography of provincial Byzantine decanummia struck at Carthage. The mark of value is indicated by the letter arrangement in the field. The surface shows heavy patination and corrosion typical of copper coinage from this period.
