| Obverse description | Frontal bust of the Ostrogothic king Baduila depicted in imperial Roman style, wearing a diadem and cuirass with paludamentum visible at the shoulders. The bust is rendered in a somewhat stylized, late antique manner typical of Ostrogothic coinage, facing directly forward with schematic facial features. The surrounding legend reads D N BADV - ILA REX, identifying the ruler as dominus noster Baduila Rex.
