10 New Sheqalim Medicine in Israel

Issued as part of Bank of Israel's long-running commemorative gold program, this piece marks the centenary of the Hadassah Medical Organization's founding activities in Palestine, which predated the state itself by over five decades. Hadassah's first nurse, Rachel Landy, arrived in 1913 — the organization would go on to establish what became the primary medical infrastructure serving both Jewish and Arab populations before and after 1948.

The .900 gold specification places it in line with earlier issues in this series rather than the .917 fineness adopted for some later Bank of Israel gold commemoratives.
