| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse features a stylized, high-relief depiction of the biblical scene of Jacob and Rachel's first meeting, as recounted in Genesis 29. Two figures rendered in a bold, modernist graphic style face one another in the upper portion of the field, their robes rendered with geometric patterning; between them they hold a lamb. Beneath the figures, a flowering plant rises from a low hillock on which two sheep stand in the lower field, evoking the pastoral setting at the well of Haran. The composition is uncluttered, occupying the full field without a surrounding legend, allowing the figurative design to command the entire reverse. |
