| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse features the State Emblem of Israel — a menorah flanked by olive branches — prominently displayed in the upper central field. | Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents a dynamic high-relief scene depicting two robed figures, rendered in a stylised figurative manner, carrying between them on a pole a colossal cluster of grapes — a direct allusion to the biblical account of the twelve spies sent by Moses to reconnoitre the Land of Canaan (Numbers 13). The figure on the left shoulders the pole from the rear, while his companion to the right faces forward, both depicted in animated stride. A large ear of wheat or grain extends diagonally from the upper right, reinforcing the theme of the land's agricultural abundance. A partially visible large jar or vessel appears to the left edge of the scene. The field is otherwise unlettered, with the entire composition filling the coin's surface to the rim. |
