| Opmerkingen |
Eritrea's 2012 nakfa series was printed by Giesecke & Devrient in Munich, the same firm that printed Reichsmark notes for the Nazi government during the Second World War — a historical coincidence the German company long outlived by pivoting to security printing contracts across the developing world. The Bank of Eritrea has maintained nakfa issuance with minimal design changes since independence, partly as a deliberate signal of monetary stability in a country that has operated under strict foreign exchange controls since 1997.
The "Printed: 30.04.1945" field in the catalog data is clearly a database error and should be corrected before publication.
