备注

Officers' Mess currencies were a pragmatic solution to a specific problem: garrisoned troops in remote or forward postings needed a functioning internal economy without exposing real currency to theft, loss, or the black market. The 4th Australian Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment was active in the Middle East and Pacific theaters during this period, and mess scrip of this kind was typically redeemable only within the issuing unit — worthless outside it by design.

These regimental issues were never officially sanctioned by the Australian military and exist in very small numbers today, most having been discarded, destroyed, or lost when units rotated or disbanded. No central printing authority handled them; production quality varies sharply across known examples.
