Aanvullende informatie

Sudan's post-independence coinage underwent a significant restructuring in 1970 under Jaafar Nimeiry's Revolutionary Command Council, which had seized power the previous year. The banking system was reorganized and the Bank of Sudan assumed fuller control over currency issuance, which accounts for the issuer attribution on this type rather than an earlier governmental body.

The dual date range reflects transitional minting arrangements common to newly assertive central banks in the early 1970s.
