| Descrizione del dritto | Lithographed in blue, the obverse follows the compositional layout of the tenth print of the Thesouro Nacional series (P#32) rendered in a distinct colour scheme. To the upper left, a blank panel incorporates a filigree watermark reserve bearing a female head vignette, while to the right a classical allegorical group presents a seated female figure accompanied by a juvenile figure at her side and a recumbent feline at her feet, with the Arms of the Republic positioned between the central figure and the child. Denomination numerals appear at the corners, and the principal text panel carries the statutory legend citing Law No. 1575 of 6 December 1906, together with the engraver's and designer's credits. |

The Caixa de Conversão was established in 1906 specifically to stabilize the Brazilian milréis by pegging it to gold at a fixed conversion rate — a direct response to the chronic exchange rate volatility that had plagued Brazilian coffee exporters since the 1890s. This note was part of that institution's founding issue, printed by the Banque de France in Paris with engraving by Jules Huyot, whose work for the BdF during this period was among the finest intaglio output in circulation anywhere.
The provisional designation reflects genuine administrative uncertainty: the Caixa's legal permanence was contested from the outset, and it was ultimately dissolved in 1914.
