| Obverse description | The national arms of Mozambique are depicted centrally in the field, featuring a shield charged with a rising sun, crossed rifle and hoe over an open book, set against a background of ocean waves. The shield is flanked by a sprig of maize to the right and a sugar cane stalk to the left, with a cogwheel at the base. Surmounting the arms is a five-pointed star. The circular legend REPÚBLICA DE MOÇAMBIQUE runs along the upper periphery, and the same inscription appears on a scroll beneath the shield. The date 1994 is incuse in the lower exergue. |
