Obverse description Central field bearing the Arabic inscription of the Sultan's name above the Hijri date 1321 in Western-Arabic numerals, all enclosed within a raised circular border. The outer border consists of an elaborate interlocking geometric fretwork pattern of Moroccan design, characteristic of the Berlin Mint's refined execution of Islamic decorative motifs.
