| Opmerkingen |
The 1922 10 Markkaa was printed domestically at a moment when Finland was still building the institutional infrastructure of an independent state — the country had only separated from Russia in 1917. Printing at the Finnish Government Printing Office in Helsinki, rather than contracting abroad as many newly independent nations did, was a deliberate assertion of self-sufficiency, though the quality of early domestic runs was uneven and the series required multiple lithographic corrections, hence the Litt A through C suffix variants.
The suffix designations track those plate revisions, not separate issue dates. Collectors conflating the three as a single type routinely undervalue the scarcer Litt C.
