Finland's central bank printed its own notes from its Helsinki facility — one of relatively few European issuing authorities to do so consistently through the postwar decades. The 1963 Litt. A designation distinguishes this emission from subsequent letter variants within the same Pick type, a practice the Bank of Finland used to track production batches without issuing entirely new designs.
