The 1986 Finnish 10 Markkaa series (Pick 113) was produced during a period when Finland was quietly modernizing its currency infrastructure ahead of broader European monetary shifts. The Finnish Security Printing House — Setec, operating in Helsinki — had by this point established a fully domestic production chain, and this note reflects that self-sufficiency. Erik Brunn, who handled the reverse, was a prolific Finnish graphic artist better known for postage stamp design; his involvement in banknote work was relatively limited, making this series a minor curiosity in his catalog.
The watermark remains the sole listed security feature, modest by later standards.
