背面描述	The reverse presents a high-relief scene inspired by a medieval illumination depicting a singing contest, referencing the Wartburg tournament from Wagner's opera Tannhäuser. At centre stands the principal figure of Tannhäuser, robed and holding a cross, surrounded by six seated and standing attendant figures arranged in a semicircular composition. The inscription TANNHÄUSER is divided across the upper field to either side of the central figure. Along the lower field, the dates 1813 - 1883 mark Wagner's birth and death years, while the legend RICHARD WAGNER curves along the bottom rim in a decorative script.
