背面描述	The central field features a detailed depiction of the famous Magdeburg hemispheres, the celebrated vacuum apparatus devised by Otto von Guericke, shown as two joined hemispherical cups with attachment fittings at left. Above, the stylized city emblem of Magdeburg — a fortified gateway with three towers — occupies the upper field. The birth and death years of von Guericke, '1602' and '1686', flank the central device at left and right respectively. The legend 'OTTO VON GUERICKE' curves along the lower periphery, with 'MAGDE-BURG' split across the upper legend flanking the city emblem.
