Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of Friedrich I, Grand Duke of Baden, facing left, with full beard and short hair rendered in fine detail. The portrait is set within a beaded border, with the mint mark 'G' (Karlsruhe Mint) appearing below the truncation. The surrounding legend reads 'FRIEDRICH GROSHERZOG VON BADEN' arranged along the upper and right periphery in raised Latin lettering.
