Reverse description The Imperial German eagle displayed, with spread wings and two heads surmounted by a single crown, occupies the central field. The eagle bears on its breast a shield charged with the Hohenzollern arms, encircled by the insignia of the Order of the Black Eagle. The date 1878 appears to the right of the eagle along the inner border, while the denomination 10 MARK is inscribed in the lower segment between two six-pointed stars. The circular legend DEUTSCHES REICH runs along the upper periphery, all enclosed within a dentillated border.
