The central vignette, rendered in a fine letterpress scenic style, presents a panoramic view of the Konstanz skyline with the Münster cathedral spires rising against a radiating sunburst sky, reflected across the waters of Lake Constance (Bodensee). In the lower foreground, the civic coat of arms of Konstanz — a cross on a shield — is set upon a rocky plinth.
