| Obverse description | The obverse is enclosed within an elaborate scrollwork border with repeated numeral '10' along all four margins. A central oval vignette in colour presents a view of a historic town gate with red-tiled roofs and figures in the foreground, rendered in a detailed illustrative style. The denomination 'Zehn Mark' appears in Gothic script to the left of the vignette, with a bilingual validity clause in German and Danish flanking it, and the issuing authority inscription 'Tondern 10. Febr. 1920 Magistrat' with the signature 'Paulsen' along the lower margin; a red serial number is printed above the central vignette. |

| Reverse description | The reverse presents a tall vertical composition framed by a monumental stone arch supported by caryatid pilasters, above which the inscription 'PLEBISCIT SLESVIG' flanks the numeral '10'. Within the arch, a coloured urban vignette shows a Roland statue on a pedestal in a town square, with the building 'Zur Börse' visible in the background and small figures and a dog in the foreground. A text panel at the foot of the design bears a German motto regarding Roland as a symbol of law and justice, with denomination cartouches '10 Mk' at lower left and right. |
