| Obverse description | The obverse is enclosed within an elaborate scrollwork border with repeated numeral '10' along all four margins. A central oval vignette in colour presents a view of a historic town gate with red-tiled roofs and figures in the foreground, rendered in a detailed illustrative style. The denomination 'Zehn Mark' appears in Gothic script to the left of the vignette, with a bilingual validity clause in German and Danish flanking it, and the issuing authority inscription 'Tondern 10.
