Obverse description Printed in green on cream paper, the note carries an elaborate guilloche border with the issuer inscription STADT FRANKFURT A.M. repeated along all four margins in letterpress. The central panel, framed by a bold cartouche, bears the denomination legend GUTSCHEIN ÜBER ZEHN MARK in large Gothic type, flanked at each corner by bold numeral 10 denominators. Below the denomination, a smaller text block states the redemption terms alongside a central vignette of the Frankfurt civic eagle coat of arms, with the date FRANKFURT a.M., 15. Okt. 1918 and the magistrate's manuscript signature to the right.

Reverse description The reverse is printed in green and presents a central panoramic vignette of the Frankfurt skyline dominated by a tall church steeple, set within an arched frame with fine engine-turned line work. Flanking the central vignette are two vertical ornamental panels each containing a lozenge-shaped guilloche medallion with the numeral 10. The inscription STADT FRANKFURT A.M. curves below the central vignette, with the numeral 10 repeated at the base, and the printer's imprint C. NAUMANN'S DRUCKEREI, FRANKFURT A.M. appears at the foot of the note.
