At left, a detailed intaglio-style vignette of the Altenburg Bartholomäikirche tower with surrounding Gothic architecture is integrated into a large ornamental calligraphic initial 'Z'. The denomination 'Zehn Mark' is rendered in bold Fraktur script across the upper centre, beneath the heading 'Gutschein', with the issuing authority text, date '15. November 1918', and the municipal seal of Altenburg applied in violet ink at centre; denomination numerals '10' appear in boxed panels at upper right and lower right. |

Above the vignette, a bold underprint of '10 M' in large numerals occupies the centre field, over which the serial number is typeset in blue ink. The heading 'Kriegsgeld der Stadt Altenburg' appears in Gothic Fraktur lettering at the top, with validity and counterfeiting-penalty texts in smaller script above and below the vignette; denomination panels '10 M' are repeated at lower left and lower right. |
