| Obverse description | Kriegsnotgeld issued on a tan ground, with the denomination 'ZEHN MARK' set in large ornate Jugendstil lettering over a green guilloche underprint at centre; the numeral '10' with floral ornaments appears in decorative cartouches at the left and right margins, each inscribed 'MARK' below. The city coat of arms of Schleswig — a tower flanked by a crescent and a six-pointed star — occupies the upper right corner, while a circular embossed dry seal is applied at upper left. Four manuscript signatures appear beneath the central legend, representing the Bürgermeister, Beigeordneter, Stadtverordneten-Vorsteher, and Stellv.-Stadtverordneten-Vorsteher respectively. |
