| Obverse description | Light blue-green note printed within a double-rule border, with the issuer's name 'STADT MARBURG' set in bold display type across the top. A central oval vignette contains a finely engraved panoramic view of Marburg, with the castle and city skyline rendered in letterpress over a horizontal-line underprint; the large numeral '1' and a bold outline '0' are superimposed over the vignette to form the denomination figure.
