Beschrijving voorzijde The central vignette is dominated by the Polish White Eagle with crown on a red oval shield, rendered in fine intaglio engraving against an ornate scrollwork frame. The denomination numeral '10' appears in decorative cartouches at upper left and right, with the title 'MAREK POLSKICH' in bold letterpress across the top. Two columns of text flank the central design: the left column carries the German Empire's guarantee of redemption text signed by the General-Governor of Warsaw dated 9 December 1916, while the right column contains the counterfeiting warning; the year '1917' appears at the foot of the note.

Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse is printed in a uniform brownish-purple tone and divided into three vertical panels by guilloche underprint columns, each containing the numeral '10' within an ornate frame. Portrait vignettes of a woman in profile appear in oval frames at upper left and right corners. The serial number, prefixed 'A', is printed twice in black across the middle band. At the foot of the note, the inscription 'DZIESIĘĆ MAREK POLSKICH' is set within a decorative border, with elaborate floral and foliate ornamental underprint filling the entire field.

Opmerkingen

The Polska Krajowa Kasa Pożyczkowa — the Polish State Loan Bank — was a monetary institution established by the German occupying administration in 1916, not a Polish sovereign institution in any meaningful sense. Its notes were instruments of German wartime economic policy, designed to extract resources from occupied Polish territory while giving the appearance of local financial autonomy. The 10 Marek denomination circulated alongside German military marks, which created persistent confusion and friction in daily commerce.

A serial number was the sole security measure — thin protection against counterfeiting, but consistent with the provisional character of the entire issue.
