| Obverse description | The face is typeset and engraved in black on plain white paper, enclosed within a decorative letterpress border of repeated ornamental units and corner rosettes. The upper panel bears the law date inscription, below which the text 'Domaines nationaux' appears in italic script, followed by the denomination 'Assignat de dix livres, payable au porteur' in large calligraphic letterpress. A handwritten-style facsimile signature of Gatteaux appears centrally, accompanied by a small wheat-sheaf vignette, with the series number and numeral '10' set within a rectangular vignette of two allegorical figures flanking the denomination numeral. The lower panel carries the anti-counterfeiting warning in small letterpress text. |
