Issued to mark the 75th anniversary of the Bank of Lithuania, which was founded in 1922 during the early years of independent Lithuanian statehood. The bank was forcibly liquidated following Soviet annexation in 1940 and formally re-established in 1990, making its institutional continuity a fraught one — the anniversary count itself required a deliberate interpretive choice about what counted as unbroken existence.
