Obverse description Central field features the Vytis, the mounted armoured knight of the Lithuanian state arms, depicted in right-facing gallop atop a caparisoned horse, raising a sword aloft in his right hand and bearing a shield charged with a double cross at his left side; a six-pointed spur star appears beneath the horse. Flanking the Vytis on both sides are stylised foliate or wheat-sheaf ornaments. The legend LIETUVA arcs across the upper field, and the denomination 10 LITŲ is inscribed along the lower field, with the date 1999 centred immediately below the horse. The entire design is framed by a beaded inner border.
