Obverse description Diademed head of Hieronymus facing left, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with richly detailed wavy hair bound by a broad diadem, the locks swept back in elegant, layered curls. The portrait is youthful and idealized, with strong facial features and a smooth, bare neck. The coin is struck within a beaded border and exhibits high relief characteristic of Syracusan die-cutting of the period.
