Obverse description The obverse features a bold, stylized rendering of the Hebrew letter Shin (ש), the first letter of the word Shalom (peace), dominating the entire field in a modern, geometric design executed by engraver Zelig Segal. The oversized letterform is composed of angular, interlocking relief segments that create a striking three-dimensional effect against the polished field. The denomination legend '10 לירות ישראליות' (10 Israeli Pounds) curves along the upper border in Hebrew script. The Gregorian year '1969' appears along the left rim and the Hebrew year 'תשכ"ט' along the right rim, both reading vertically. The overall artistic treatment is characteristically modernist, reflecting the style of Israeli commemorative coinage of the late 1960s.

Reverse description The reverse, engraved by Nathan Karp, presents a bold typographic composition featuring the Hebrew biblical quotation 'וְלֹא יָדַע אִישׁ אֶת קְבֻרָתוֹ' (And no man knows his burial place) in large, stylized block Hebrew letters filling the central field, with the source citation 'דברים לד ו' (Deuteronomy 34:6) inscribed in smaller text beneath. To the lower right, a finely detailed relief vignette depicts a woven basket alongside an olive branch with leaves and buds, symbolizing peace and prosperity. The trilingual country name 'ישראל' in Hebrew curves along the bottom border, 'اسرائيل' in Arabic appears along the right rim, and 'ISRAEL' in Latin script is inscribed at the upper right. The design commemorates Moses, whose burial place remained unknown, as a metaphor for peace.
