Obverse description Central to the obverse is a highly detailed depiction of an ornate Hanukkah lamp (chanukiah) of the Jerusalem type, rendered in fine relief. The lamp features an elaborately decorated backplate surmounted by a Star of David, with intricate foliate and architectural ornamentation, and a chain hanging from the center. Eight oil font cups are arranged along the base of the lamp body, with drip catchers below. A Hebrew legend reading חנוכי מירושלים (Hanukkah lamp from Jerusalem) is inscribed to the left of the lamp, and the inscription המאה ה-י״כ (the 16th century) appears in the exergue below.
