| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of King Victor Emmanuel III facing left, rendered in high relief with finely detailed hair and a characteristic moustache. The truncation of the neck is clean and unadorned. The circular legend reads VITT·EM·III· to the left and RE·D'ITALIA· to the right, separated by raised dots, in incuse Roman capitals set close to the rim. The portrait is executed in a naturalistic, modernist style typical of Italian coinage of the Fascist era, with a broad, uncluttered field emphasising the sculptural quality of the effigy. |
