Issued as part of the FAO's Freedom from Hunger campaign, this piece belongs to a coordinated global coinage effort that saw dozens of countries mint FAO-themed coins simultaneously in the late 1960s — an unusual moment of numismatic internationalism driven by the UN's push to make agricultural development politically visible.
