| Opis awersu | The three towers of San Marino — the Guaita, Cesta, and Montale — rise prominently in the center of the field, each surmounted by a stylized flame or pennant, rendered in a bold, graphic style. The Latin legend REPUBBLICA DI SAN MARINO curves along the upper periphery, while the motto LIBERTAS appears across the lower central field beneath the towers. Small decorative floral or foliate ornaments flank the date 1975, which is inscribed along the lower rim. The engraver's initials B.B. appear in small characters at the lower right, near the rim. |

San Marino's 1975 coinage program was part of a broader series issued as the republic began aggressively courting the collector market — a revenue strategy that would define much of its numismatic output through the late twentieth century. These pieces circulated alongside Italian lire under the currency agreements governing San Marino's monetary relationship with Italy, though most were absorbed by collectors before seeing any real commercial use.
