Additional information

The Xprunara is a traditional Maltese fishing vessel, and this issue belongs to a long-running Central Bank of Malta gold series documenting indigenous watercraft — one of the more quietly consistent numismatic programs of the early 2000s. Malta's fishing culture predates the Knights of St. John by centuries, and these small-denomination gold pieces were never intended for circulation, produced in limited proof quantities for the collector market.

KM#119 is among the harder dates to source cleanly in the series.
