Descrizione del dritto	The obverse is printed in dark brown and black on cream paper, with a portrait vignette of a gentleman in formal attire occupying the left portion within an oval frame, flanked by the denomination «10 LIBRAS ESTERLINAS» in an elaborate guilloche panel at centre. The bank title «EL BANCO DE A. EDWARDS Y Cᵃ» arches across the upper portion, with a promise-to-pay inscription in script below, and the place of issue «VALPARAISO» and a coat-of-arms vignette appear at lower right. The serial number and series letters are printed in red at both the upper centre and lower right margins.

Descrizione del rovescio	The reverse is printed in a uniform warm brown tone with an intricate guilloche border of scalloped form enclosing the entire design. The denomination «£10» in large ornate script appears twice flanking a central oval cartouche bearing the word «DIEZ», with the legend «LIBRAS ESTERLINAS» and «ORO» repeated symmetrically around the composition in elegant lettering.
