| Obverse description | The coat of arms of the People's Republic of Bulgaria is prominently displayed in the centre of the field, featuring a rampant lion within a shield, flanked by wheat sheaves tied with a ribbon, surmounted by a five-pointed star, and bearing a scroll at the base inscribed with the founding dates 681 and 1944. Flanking the arms in the lower field are two stylised flowering plant sprigs. The date 1979 appears divided on either side of the arms, and the large denomination numerals '10' with the Cyrillic legend 'ЛЕВА' are displayed in the lower field. The circular legend 'НАРОДНА РЕПУБЛИКА БЪЛГАРИЯ' runs along the upper periphery, with a decorative border of laurel sprigs encircling the entire design. |
