| 正面铭文 | ΓΕΩΡΓΙΟΣ Α! ΒΑΣΙΛΕΥΣ ΤΩΝ ΕΛΛΗΝΩΝ ΒΑΡΡΕ 1882 (Translation: GEORGE I KING OF THE GREEKS BARRE 1882) |
| 背面描述 | The denomination is displayed prominently in two lines at the centre of the field: the numeral 10 above ΛΕΠΤΑ, all enclosed within a laurel and olive wreath tied at the base with a ribbon bow. The ancient Greek monetary term ΔΙΩΒΟΛΟΝ (diobol) arcs across the upper portion of the field above the wreath. A small mint mark appears in the lower field, and the entire design is framed by a beaded border. |

Greece's bronze coinage of this period was minted in Paris, a dependency of the Latin Monetary Union framework that governed much of continental Europe's subsidiary coinage from 1865 onward. The 2nd portrait variety of George I displaced the earlier effigy beginning in 1878, a modification attributed to the Paris Mint's re-engraving of the royal portrait rather than any royal decree or political event.
KM#55 is the scarcer of the two portrait types in circulated grades, largely because the 1878–1882 window produced lower combined mintages than the initial series.
