Obverse description A large royal crown occupies the central field, rendered in fine relief with detailed arches and jeweled band. The circular legend ΚΡΗΤΙΚΗ ΠΟΛΙΤΕΙΑ (State of Crete) surrounds the design along the upper periphery. The date 1900 appears in the lower exergual area, with the engraver's signature A. BORREL incised beneath the crown. The coin's denticled border frames the entire composition.
