Obverse description The Moldovan state coat of arms occupies the upper central field, depicting a displayed eagle holding an olive branch in its dexter talon and a sceptre in its sinister talon, with a cross in its beak; the eagle's breast bears a shield charged with the traditional Moldovan symbols of an aurochs head, a star, a crescent, and a rosette. The date 2005 is inscribed at the top of the field, flanked by two small lozenges. The circular legend REPUBLICA MOLDOVA arcs around the left and right periphery, while the denomination 10 LEI appears prominently in the lower segment of the field, separated by a horizontal line.
