| Obverse description | The Moldovan state coat of arms occupies the upper half of the obverse field, depicting a displayed eagle holding an olive branch in its dexter talon and a sceptre in its sinister talon, with a shield on its breast charged with the traditional symbols of the aurochs head, sun, crescent, and star. The legend REPUBLICA MOLDOVA arcs around the left and right periphery respectively, while the date 2008 appears at the top of the field flanked by two lozenge ornaments. A horizontal line divides the field, below which the denomination 10 LEI is prominently inscribed in large numerals and bold lettering. The design is struck to proof standard with a deeply mirrored field contrasting against frosted devices. |
