| 裏面の説明 | A facing portrait of Mauriciu Brociner occupies the central field, rendered in finely detailed relief. Brociner is identified by his name 'MAURICIU BROCINER' inscribed as a legend around or beneath the portrait. The date '1879', marking the year of his naturalization as the first Romanian Army officer of Jewish descent to be granted Romanian citizenship, appears in the field. The design honors his historical significance with a dignified, portrait-centered composition typical of commemorative numismatic issues. |

Mauriciu Brociner (1837–1905) was a Bucharest-based financier and one of the founding shareholders of the National Bank of Romania when it was established in 1880. He was also a prominent figure in Romanian Jewish civic life at a time when Jews in the Romanian principalities faced severe legal restrictions on citizenship — restrictions that the Great Powers had pressed Romania to lift at the Congress of Berlin in 1878, with limited immediate effect. The bank itself was chartered with mixed private and state capital, and Brociner's early involvement places him at the intersection of two contested histories: Romanian financial institution-building and the long struggle for Jewish emancipation in southeastern Europe.
